Making the most of a Difficult Wedding

As far as Weddings go this one was probably one of my smallest and most difficult. Local registry office followed by Pub, followed by Cricket Club in the evening. The Bride and Groom were a fantastic couple and I really wanted to give them something they could treasure, but how?
I started off at the Brides home, Lovely end of Terrace, but difficult to find a good background inside or outside. In the bedroom I noticed a large Black and White wall which I thought would look really well once the Bride had got ready. I made a comment about it being a difficult area, hence the hammer next to the bed!!. No she said just the other half not putting stuff away!! Huge Sigh of relief. I took a few shots and thought it would look well across a double page possibly in Black and White.

At the registry office it was a case of trying to find somewhere to park without getting a ticket and trying to reserve a spot for the Brides arrival. Enter the Brides Mum. Valiantly she faced hit and run from drivers wanting the parking space but no way was she letting it go, they would literally have to Knock her down. The Bride arrived with her daughters and it was straight in to the service shooting as quickly as I could with only a few shots of formality before going in.

The groom looked very nervous but I knew the officer in charge and she let me stand at the front to get my pictures, thankfully.
After the service I was promised that the pub had an area for photos at the back so I didnt take any at the registry office just a quick group shot and some confetti.
I told the wedding party that they could go straight to the pub and I would catch them there or they could come with us to the park if they wished. No one did!
At the park I had spotted earlier in the week some beautiful Bluebells so I headed straight there. I also took an empty frame for an effect I wanted to try. This part was the best bit of the day and well worth the planning beforehand. I could have stayed for another 30 minutes but the rest of the family photos called, so we set off to the pub.

On arrival all of the wedding guests were sat down ready to eat. As soon as my Bride and Groom walked in they all cheered and clapped and the waiters started to serve the meal!!!
HELP!! There was no back gardens and I couldnt take any of my family pics. Everyone was eating!!
Quick change of plan- Take the wedding speeches (doing them first- Hurray!) Disaster - these only lasted 1 minute in total!!! Took what I could of of speeches and guests enjoying themselves.

I made my excuses and said that I would be back in the evening to take the rest (ALL) of the remaining family/friends shots. Fortunately the cricket club did not have a match on so we could use the grassed area. Hurrah!!
Disaster - there was a cricket match on!! Car Park was full. Just about got the last spot. Couldnt use the pitch or the front with all the crowd. Found a field to the side but not the best background. No option. The Thunder and Lightening in the background compounded things, but best to keep smiling.
I managed one half of the family, Dad was not yet here on the other side. Too late - the rain came down. All the remaining shots would have to be inside the club.
Fortunately the kids at the wedding were great and played and danced for ages which let me capture the fun side of the wedding.

Unfortunately they also took out all of the small stones from the boxes holding the balloons down and scattered them across the dance floor!.
Not long now before the first dance (after the floor had been swept) and I could make my way home to save the pictures and produce the album.

I have to admit that I really like the results, given the situations that arose on the day.
Remember that you do not have to have a massive wedding to get fantastic photographs.
